True enough, yet the NDP aren’t calling for Singh to step down, because he is not helping the party in anyway. He has lost seats in every election, yet they keep him. Poor Tom Mulcair, although still very much a socialist would have made a better leader, yet they dumped him because he lost an election he couldn’t win, because it was the crowning of Justin Trudeau.
I knew someone who knew Tom quite well and all I heard was good things about him. I think Tom Mulcair would have been miles better than Jagmeet. He actually was more fiscally conservative than Trudeau advocating balanced budgets. Unfortunately the country went gaga over Trudeau looks and his simple sunny ways bs.
True enough, about Trudeau, however, I still think we all would have been better served with a continuing Conservative government. People were tired of Harper and quite frankly I don't think his heart was really in the last election, and I think he knew naive Canadians who had heard so much propaganda about what a 'great' PM Trudeau senior was would be seduced, by his son and he was right. Some, like me, weren't, I saw his Justin for what he was a malignant narcissist taking advantage of a name and the fame that came with it.
I voted for the NDP back in my youth, when I had not built any capital in my life yet. My thoughts on that changed as I grew older, started to build savings, capital and a life with a family. It is something I have since said and that is, it is easy to vote socialist when you have nothing, but once you have worked hard and gained something in your life, you begin to realize that you don’t really want to give it all away to those who haven’t.
They certainly did. That is because as much as they say they are the party of the working people they are not. With far left positions on subjects related to gender ideology and the belief that men can be women they are so disconnected from the working people it is beyond belief that anyone who is working class gives them the time of day.
Every member of the Liberal and NDP caucus deserves electoral oblivion. They’re a parliamentary putrefaction. Not one of them had the courage to once vote against Trudeau’s deluded policies and so in the interests of their own constituents.
Great overview Roxanne. I suggest that if you have time maybe you do a few pieces on Mark Carney. I truly believe that Trudeau and most of his colleagues are increasingly irrelevant to what is coming over the next 6-9 months. Carney clearly has his eyes on the PMs jobs. Have a look at his last few tweets which were carefully worded and polished to appear kind of tough with Trump yet projecting calm and confidence. Same story with his last tweet about the coming year and its challenges. These are carefully worded crafted messages likely written by his advisors to distinguish himself from Trudeau and the other ministers. He in the end is the one likely to be running against Poilievre so its him we need to focus on. I am hopeful that Poilievre still wins a majority later this year even against Carney but I do believe that Carney will likely cut the lead substantially. So all the latest doom and gloom polls are not really relevant as they all refelct the disgust Canadians have with Trudeau. Carney likely could add a good 10 points or more to the Liberal brand.
I understand your concerns about this. Given from where I sit, and knowing that Carney is in lockstep with Trudeau on every single economically crushing policy for Canada it is hard to believe that Canadians will fall for his bullshit. I think Poilievre is well aware of Carney and his tricks -- which why when her references him he calls him Carbon Tax Carney, and I think he is already building up his own warship to take him on should he win the Liberal leadership. Carney may have handlers that can carefully word Tweets for him, however, it has been noted by many observers that Carney is not a good communicator. And much like what was wrong with Ignatiaff, he hasn't exactly spent much time in Canada since his time with the Bank of Canada.
I tend to agree but I think he is the one candidate that likely would have the best chance at boosting the Liberal fortunes by at least 10 points. I dont think it would be enough for him to win but maybe cut that cons majority to a minority which would be awful. But, you are right, that he is not a great debater. But I believe her will have a big cheerleading squad in mainstream media circles and other important people backing him up which will convince some Canadians. I think there are many Canadians who will like his financial savvy, even though I personally think he kept interest rates too low for too long. But many will respect his credentials and he can brag about writing his op ed in the Ottawa Citizen statig that the convoyers were seditionists.
All I can say is that try as they might the mainstream media did everything to paint Kamela as some reigning queen and literally called Trump a Nazi. Americans didn't buy their bullshit. All we can hope is that Canadians do the same. For Americans the issue was the economy, the border and the cost of living. Things are worse here on all those issues.
I truly hope Canadians know better after 10 years of hell under the entire Liberal Party led by an incompetent part-time drama teacher! Carney is not a God or a saviour by any means he advised Trudeau on the Liberal road of destruction!
So basically when all is said and done, this came down to the “honking of horns” which made some people uncomfortable? This is a travesty of Justice and the ones that should be on trial here are the govt and specifically Justin Trudeau and Christian Freeland whose steadfast resistance to having a reasonable conversation with Canadian citizens (who obviously represented more than were just in Ottawa) about how mandates and CoVid restrictions were impacting their lives, prolonged the “inconvenience” that some residents and businesses (not all) stated they were feeling. I know that I wrote to various members of parliament, my own MP and the Prime Minister about my own experiences and received basically form responses back that did not acknowledge any of what I was saying and instead gave the same Pat answers and platitudes of all being in this together and it’s for everyone’s “safety” with no acknowledgement of any scientific debate about what was happening or actual harms. Upon further trying to write ( and these were not just form letters, but actual letters that I composed myself), I either received no response or in the case of my own MP Jonathan Wilkinson, a cabinet minister, I did not even receive a receipt stating that they received my email- suggesting that my email was blocked - and I had made note that I was a member of HIS CONSTITUENCY. When I called the office they denied blocking me, had no explanation how that would happen and stated they would get back to me and NEVER DID. At that point, I gave up. The Liberal govt of the past decade promised transparency and a better way of including Canadians and what we got was corruption, non transparency, misogyny on the part of the PM who through female members of his cabinet under the bus rather than own his misdeeds, promoted hate and divisiveness between Canadians, calling them terrible names and allowing them to be compared to Nazis in the case of the Freedom Convoy (and then went on to invite a give a standing ovation to an actual NAZI in parliament) and managed to put our Country into massive debt - never once “balancing the budget” which did not “balance itself” as Justin Trudeau infamously said making us weaker and more susceptible to swings in foreign policies from other countries. Not to mention that under the Liberal govt, we have expanded assisted suicide (creepily called MAID) to such an extent that it is now a leading cause of death in Canada and is offered up as a solution for more than just the terminally ill in extreme pain, but also being expanded to the mentally ill and impoverished veterans. This govt also talked about it being offered to minor children-despicable. I am also extremely concerned about the infiltration of Canada’s govt by the Communist Party of China and the events this week where Mark Carney, the new leader of the Liberal party stood behind a decision to allow an MP to continue to run for re-election after he admitted to actually advocating for a Canadian citizen who is on a dissident wanted list in Hong Kong and running against him as a candidate for election to be kidnapped and taken in to the Chinese embassy where one could collect the $1M Hong Kong currency bounty. Mark Carney stated that because this MP, apologized for his remarks and because he had previously served in law enforcement for 25 yrs (which means that he absolutely should have known this was not legal)was enough to allow him to continue to run for re-election as a Liberal. This is a stunning tell of Mr. Carney’s morals and ethical decision making, which should be enough to make him an unsuitable choice for Prime Minister. Ten years of one political party is enough. They have done more than enough damage to our country and it is time for a change.
I love looking at pix of Canadas ruling oligarchy. More and more these people are just “there”, not sure why, or what any of them do, and therefore what difference do any of them make in the lives of 98% of the people?
List of names! I want to see who was “under the influence 💰📸💰🙊”. No one is a legitimate player until we know. Nothing but theatre. No legitimate Canadian government exists until we know fulsomely.
They are all delusional. Total gong show. Until Canadians wake up get un brain washed, stop taking bio weapons. They just may be able to think clearly. We need another Freedom Convoy.
What are the odds of so many people allowing themselves to be controlled over 10 years by such a person to the extent they were willing to give up their pride, dignity and values, to what end?
Everyone wants to succeed and has a desire to make a significant contribution to society while enjoying the benefits as a result of their dedication to living the best life! Only to have their integrity compromised and questioned for blindly following a corrupt leader! It's not as if they did not know the consequences of such loyalty but the loss of trust!
No, you see that’s his game, always playing with words. He said he will resign. He has not. He is still PM and will remain so until the Liberals hold a convention and name a new leader. So we remain in limbo without a functional government and an authoritarian tyrant who will do anything it takes to cling to power for a few more months. It doesn’t matter that the Canadian people are screaming for an election. All that matters is him and his ego, as it has always been.
I think they have no intention of there ever BEING another election, or if there is, there’s still the bloated bureaucracy , the sinister senate, polluted Privy council, fake Governor General , corrupt judiciary and puppet police! With the Chinese and the WEF pulling all the strings.
I understand your frustration. And certainly there are some things that will be difficult to change given how entrenched things are. That said, I still have some faith that the Conservatives led by Poilievre can effect enough change to make our lives much better than they have been under the Liberals. Unfortunately western countries around the world have allowed the WEF and the UN to infect them with dangerous ideologies. All it would seem are finally waking up to it. Let’s hope it’s not too late.
Partly true, but the oligarchy knows how to stay in control, it is after all a phenomenally lucrative gig…so the propaganda machine essentially rigs each vote to a determined outcome.
100%. Den of thieves must be cleansed. New government must purge the RCMP and defund the CBC as a start.
The JUDICIARY!! And the Privy Council and the senate!

The federal NDP showed such snobbish contempt for the working people involved in the Truckers' Freedom Convoy.
They certainly did. That is because as much as they say they are the party of the working people they are not. The US gov isn’t only country uncovering massive financial corruption … Canada has same if not worse! Where is our DOGE!

We know that one
